The War Child project Forward are funding in CAR!
Through Charity of the Year, Forward are funding a project in CAR (The Central African Republic) dubbed by War Child; ’The biggest country you’ve never heard of’.

Over 70% of the population are displaced, over 50% of the population are under the age of 18 and the country has been affected by violence for decades. Rebel groups (including the notorious Lord’s Resistance Army) abduct children and young people and force them to serve as soldiers. They’re made to kill, beat and inflict sexual violence to terrorise communities (that are often, even more cruelly, their own).
The project Forward are supporting has been created to transform the lives of young people who have been abducted or displaced. It works on two levels, rebuilding an old livelihood and enabling the creation of a new one.
Young people will have the opportunity to train with adults who’re from displaced communities. The adults have the skills but lack the tools and materials, because of the war, to run their businesses and train others. They will get given the tools, help a young person establish a trade and a future, whilst being able to rekindle their own.
